Daylilies

Hemerocallis 'Red'
Hemerocallis 'Red'
Hemerocallis 'Yellow'
Hemerocallis 'Yellow'

So many colors, so easy to grow. Beautiful carefree summers start with daylilies that never seem to stop blooming. Each bloom lasts only one day, but is cheerfully replaced day after day for waves of vibrant color. Daylilies adore the heat of summer and flower best with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day, although light shade in the afternoon is appreciated. Loved for their hardiness, daylilies are just as happy in polluted city environments and briny salt air as they are gracing slopes and walkways. Although daylilies tolerate drought, they perform best in moist but well-drained soils. Bamboo Pipeline gives you loads of choices in flower color, flower form, and season of bloom to find out for yourself why the daylily has become America's favorite perennial flower.

Hemerocallis 'Bitsy'
Hemerocallis 'Bitsy' This highly ornamental dwarf daylily sports a profusion of lemon yellow trumpet-shaped flowers. 'Bitsy' is popular for its extra-early bloom and tolerance of extreme heat and cold. The grassy foliage of this miniature daylily grows to only 12' high. Dainty 2' flowers appear in spring atop 24' dark-stemmed spikes. Blooms repeat in summer.
Hemerocallis 'Burgundy'
Hemerocallis 'Burgundy' Summer blooming 'Burgundy' offers large burgundy blooms with darker eyes and yellow-green throats. Blooms rise from neat clumps of green, strap-like foliage to 18' tall and wide.
Hemerocallis 'Cranberry Baby'
Hemerocallis 'Cranberry Baby' Waves of blooms start in early summer to July. The cranberry-red blossoms have ruffled petals with a slight darkening towards the eye and greenish-gold throat. The grass-like foliage provides a nice contrast to the 2' rose colored flowers. Re-blooms in fall. This compact baby grows to only 12' tall, making it a great border plant. .
Hemerocallis 'Joan Senior'
Hemerocallis 'Joan Senior' One of the most popular white daylilies, blooms last at least sixteen hours each for a beautiful display late into the day. The nearly white ruffled flowers have a pale yellow watermark and lime-green throat. Blooms in early to mid-summer, then repeats in late summer. 6' flowers on 2 foot stems top foliage to 2 feet tall.
Hemerocallis 'Jungle Princess'
Hemerocallis 'Jungle Princess' These dramatic maroon-purple flowers have unique spidery petals with a yellow-green throat. Exceptionally sunfast for such a dark color. 5' flowers on 3 foot stems. Blooms start in midsummer, then rebloom again later for a long season. Tall light-green foliage to 3 feet tall.
Hemerocallis 'Orange'
Hemerocallis 'Orange' This is the familiar and universally recognized orange daylily with petals that are creamy orange. Roots spread gradually for superbly effective erosion control. Foliage to 18' tall and wide. 5' flowers on 3 foot stems.
Hemerocallis 'Peach'
Hemerocallis 'Peach' Enchanting peach-colored blooms are held high above attractive clumps of strap-shaped foliage to two feet tall. The profusion of blooms starts in spring and never seems to stop, reblooming later in the season. This delicate-looking daylily is exceptionally tough.
Hemerocallis 'Red'
Hemerocallis 'Red' Hot summers are even hotter in shades of red. The plentiful curved blooms are a deep velvety red with a golden throat. This showy red mid-season bloomer holds its color in full sun. Green strap-shaped leaves to 18' tall and wide.
Hemerocallis 'Stella d'Oro'
Hemerocallis 'Stella d'Oro' This miniature daylily packs the longest bloom of any daylily. Heavy clusters of golden-yellow trumpet flowers top upright 2 foot stalks. An early and prolific bloomer, starting in early summer and again through August and September. Forms a dense clump of grassy green foliage to 1 foot tall. Needs cool winters. Not suitable for coastal Southern California.
Hemerocallis 'Yellow'
Hemerocallis 'Yellow' Showy lemon-yellow curved flowers contrast nicely against the large clumps of long dark-green foliage that reaches 24' tall. This spring bloomer reblooms in mid-summer.
