Most yuccas bloom in spring, but Y. gloriosa blooms in late summer to fall. Pendent, bell-shaped, white flowers, often tinged with purple, appear on short stalked, showy panicles, set partially within the head of leaves. An erect evergreen yucca usually with multiple stems arising from base as it ages. The narrowly sword-shaped leaves are thin and pliable and generally straight, but can be reflexed at the leaf tips. Foliage emerges glaucous blue-green maturing to dark green.
